Going on a road trip?
With the Panthers schedule out, the planning for road trips has begun. The obvious easy trips are to Green Bay, Madison, Valparaiso, and twice to Chicago. I'm not counting Marquette as a road trip for obvious reasons. The intra-state matchups and conference games in close proximity outside, there are some intriguing options for road trips to see the Black and Gold in the 2009-10 season.

W. Soccer. Panthers Get Past Loyola, Advance To League Title Game
Sophomores Makenzie Gillaspie and Sarah Hagen each scored goals to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Loyola in the 2009 Horizon League Championship semifinals Friday evening at Engelmann Field.With their ninth-straight win, the top-seeded Panthers (11-5-3) advance to Sunday's league championship game. They will face No. 3 Valparaiso in their 11th title game appearance in 16 years. The Crusaders got past No. 2 Wright State, 2-1, in the day's first semifinals matchup. Sunday's championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Engelmann Field. The winner receives the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Both relay teams and six different members of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming team recorded individual victories to send the team past Wheaton College Friday at Chrouser Pool. The Panthers won, 140-62, to record their eighth-straight win in the series and also to improve to 16-3 all-time against the Thunder. Senior Kerry Rossow, juniors Danielle Wenger and Katelyn Brittain, sophomores Sarah Wardecke and Heidi Niespodzany and freshman Parker Watson all recorded wins to highlight the non-conference dual meet, as UWM won eight of 11 events on the night.M. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming team dominated its meet against Wheaton College Friday evening, winning 10 of 11 events in rolling to a 140-57 victory at Chrouser Pool. The Panthers improved to 19-1 all-time against the Thunder with the win. In addition to both relay teams, Milwaukee got individual victories from seniors Jeremy Waldhart and Ed Lichinsky, juniors Dan Heraly and Matt Kluczinske, sophomore Brady Huemann and freshmen Cris Smith, Zachary Kraai and Nathan Welchlin.John Parker at the Examiner
